Updated this week

We’ve made two major updates to improve the reliability and control of your email experience in Swipe One:

  1. Mailbox management has been relocated to a dedicated section within Workspace Settings.

  2. Our Gmail integration has been rebuilt in-house, replacing our previous third-party provider.

This guide walks you through what’s changed, what actions are required (for Gmail users), how to reconnect your account, and what happens to older threads.

1. Mailbox Settings Are Now Located Under Sales Emails

To make managing email accounts more intuitive, we've moved all connected mailboxes to:

New Path:
Workspace Settings → Sales Emails → Mailboxes

From here, you can connect, disconnect, or reconnect email accounts — including Gmail, Outlook, and others.

2. Gmail Integration: Why We Migrated In-House

Previously, Gmail connections were powered by a third-party provider (Composio). However, over time, many users experienced recurring issues such as:

  • Inconsistent contact activity tracking

  • Delays or failures when sending emails

  • Longer support cycles due to third-party dependencies

To ensure long-term reliability and better support turnaround, we’ve now migrated to an in-house Gmail integration. This change gives us full control over the Gmail connection pipeline and significantly improves stability.

If you had a Gmail account connected before, you will need to reconnect it using the new process outlined below.

3. How to Reconnect Your Gmail Account

Step 1: Go to the Mailbox Management Area

Navigate to:
Workspace Settings → Sales Emails → Mailboxes

You’ll see your previously connected Gmail account listed in a disconnected state.

Click the three-dot menu next to the account, and select Reconnect.

Step 2: Generate and Use a Gmail App Password

Swipe One now requires App Passwords for Gmail connections instead of the previous OAuth method. App passwords are 16-character codes generated by Google for apps that do not support 2-Step Verification sign-in flows.

Important: To create an App Password, you must have 2-Step Verification enabled on your Google Account.
You can find full instructions here: How to create and manage App Passwords

How to Create an App Password:

  1. If prompted, sign in to your Gmail account.

  2. In the "App name" field, enter a label (e.g., “Swipe One”) and click Create.

  3. Google will generate a 16-character app password. Copy this — it will only be shown once.

Once you have the app password, enter it (along with your Gmail address) during the reconnection flow in Swipe One.

4. What Happens to Older Email Threads

All emails sent through Gmail before this migration are now archived in Swipe One. This means:

  • You can still view these threads inside Gmail, and also in the Contact → Personal Email area in Swipe One.

  • However, these archived threads can no longer be replied to or synced within the platform.

All new activity going forward will be tracked through your newly reconnected Gmail account.
